Why digital marketing is your business bestie

If you weren't already marketing online, there is a good chance you have just been thrown in at the deep end.

First of all, how can digital marketing help your business - not in fluffy ways, but in strong, tangible ways?

Digital marketing 101...I have had a few questions lately from businesses keen to market their software or services and encourage followers and leads. So here goes:


1) What is digital marketing?

I am not a fan of complex dialogue or buzzwords. Digital marketing is the same as any other marketing, only it's digital.


2) How can a digital marketing strategy help my biz?

A DM strategy considers your brand, audience, key messages, objective, content and digital channels. Otherwise, you are just randomly pushing out content - which is fine, but results will be equally random and messages may be muddy.


3) What is wrong with randomly pushing out content?

Nothing. So long as you are happy with random results - which can work, but consistency is lacking.


4) What can DM do (exactly)?

Boost engagement, awareness and attract leads and sales.


5) How can I create a successful DM strategy?

Identify your digital marketing goals * build buying personas * assess digital channels * produce content * audit and plan your media campaigns * target prospects with relevant content at the various buying stages to move them through to purchase - these are all a good start.
